Josiah Belcher left a will 3 April 1683 Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, names wife Ranis, sons John, Janathan, Joseph, Edward, Nathan and Bemjamin, and daughters Elizabeth, Rebecca, Anna, Dorothy, Abigail, and Ruth.2

His estate was probated on 20 September 1693 at Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, a partition was made of his estate among his surviving children, which is described and recorded in Suffolk Co Deeds v.19 pg 158. Further deeds in relation to this property, show that all his sons, except John and Bemjamin, died without issue, and apparently unmarried, and that the daughter Dorothy died without issue soon after her marriage.2
