To-Do*Yes.
NoteNew York Gen. & Bio. Record vol 22 (1891) page 33 says that he married Hannah, sister of Rev Nathaniel Brewster, but Jacobus shows this to be error as John's wife was Mary.
NoteHistory of Stamford CT, Huntington 1868 (SLC 0928516) has only info that is either not pertinent, or is a duplicate of information, for example, the sources include Thompson's Long Island.
Story*[John Note] In the T.A.G. article on Brewster cited above, there is quite a bit
of documentation of land records for John Thompson. Then Jacobus goes on to
say: The above records prove conclusively that John Tompson of Brookhaven had
lived in Stamford CT, from how early a date we don't know, where in 1667 he was
the owner of a house and shop, which he sold in 1670; that late in 1668 he had
been accepted as the town smith in Oyster Bay, where he lived from 1668 to
1672; that he removed to Brookhaven and in 1673 disposed of his Oyster Bay
property.
There is an Anthony Tomson, a tailor, with his wife Abigail, in the area
at this time as well, and it is speculated that he might be a son. Jacobus points
out the pros and cons, and says he may be a nephew, but concludes: A connection
seems likely, but it cannot be stated positively on the basis of the evidence
at hand that Anthony was John's son. As a result, Anthony is not included here
as a son.
There are a lot of erroneous, possibly fabricated, Brewster-Thompson "facts" that
have been shown wrong by Jacobus. His article should be studied in depth by any
researcher on this line.

NoteSeveral IGI entries for John/Hannah marriage in IGI that should all be checked to see if any lead to an original source for their marriage.
