Father*Samuel Terry VI b. c 1772, d. b 12 Jul 1812
Mother*Tennah "Tennie" Jones b. s 1778, d. bt 1833 - 1835
Birth*21 October 1799 Samuel Terry VII was born 21 October 1799 at Carmel (now Putnam Co.), Dutchess Co., New York, Year also agrees with age in 1850 census.1,2
(Witness) Census18001800He is assumed to be one of the household of Samuel Terry VI in the 1800 census, Frederick Twnship (now Putnam Co.), Dutchess Co., New York, http://babcockancestry.com/GenealogyMisc/NYmap1802-fourtownships.jpg, who has 1m0-10 (Samuel VII), 1m26-45 (Samuel VI), 1f0-10 (Sarah), 1f26-45 (Tennah) (Ancestry image 6 of 8).3
(Witness) Census18101810Samuel Terry VII is assumed to be one of the household of Samuel Terry VI in the 1810 census, Frederick Twnship (now Putnam Co.), Dutchess Co., New York, http://babcockancestry.com/GenealogyMisc/NYmap1802-fourtownships.jpg, who has 3m0-10 (Smith, Norris, Newman), 1m10-15 (Samuel VII), 1m26-44 (Samuel VI), 2f0-10 (Huldah, Sarah), 1f26-44 (Tennah).3
Residence1812Samuel Terry VII resided 1812: Frederickstown, Dutchess County became Kent, Putnam County.
Residence*He resided Ovid pre 1817 Covert after, Seneca Co., New York: moved after his father died. "d. about 1810; m. Miss Jennie (or Tennah) Jones. He was a miller. His widow and chidren removed to Covert, Seneca Co, NY."4
Census1820*1820He was the head of the household in the 1820 census, pg 311 line 5, Covert, Seneca Co., New York with Tinney Torry with 1m10-15 (Smith), 1m16-25 (Samuel), 1f0-10 (Mary), 1f10-15 (Huldah), and 1f45+ (Tennah who would actually would be about 40). Sons Norris (age 13) and Newman (age 18) are probably the males in the household of their grandfather William Jones as the ages fit. Daughter Sarah is already married. Husband Samuel (VI) is deceased.
CAUTION: on page 312 line 16 is Samuel Terry 1m10-16, 1m16-18, 2m16-26, 1m45+, 1f10-16, 2f45+. This can't be Samuel (VI) as he died in 1812. So, he and the James Terry 1m0-10, 1m26-44, 1f16-25 next door (line 16) are probably cousins, not immediate family, therefore I won't figure them out..
