Ayer, James RN 444 * 19 Dec 1771 - In the book "A Complete List of Legible Inscriptions in Pentucket Cemetery from 1668-1812" published by the Haverhill Historical Society in September 1904, there is this inscription:

Here Lies Buried
The Body Of
Deacon James
Ayer Who
Departed This
Life December
The 19th 1771
And In The 86th Year
Of His Age

It is not in the 1950 book leading one to conclude that the tombstone is no longer available.
